The future is about cities. By 2050 75% of humanity will be living in cities - Lord Norman Foster
Speaking ahead of the RIBA鈥檚 International Conference, Lord Norman Foster tells us what he thinks is the future of our cities and the role architects can play in shaping this future.
Lord Foster鈥檚 vision for the future city is 鈥渢he sustainable city [which is] about strong civic leadership, pedestrianisation, people over cars, density [and] mixed-use.鈥
For this vision to be made reality, Lord Foster advocates for the profession to 鈥渕ove outside of buildings鈥 and 鈥渆mbrace other disciplines鈥. Only then, he says, can we offer a 鈥渉igher quality of urban life in a more sustainable, more green future."
Hear from other industry experts at our International Conference on 4 July 2017, including Elizabeth Diller, Sir David Chipperfield, Odile Decq, Francis K茅r茅, Amanda Levete and many more.
