The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has announced the 2024聽annual subscription fees for individual members聽and Chartered Practices.聽聽聽
Following a reduction in 2021, a price freeze in 2022, and an increase in 2023, 2024 membership rates will increase by聽4.5%.聽This is, again, below the predicted rate of inflation.聽
Support for those facing financial hardship, on lower incomes, or retired architects will continue. Free membership for Part 1 and Part 2 students at RIBA聽validated聽schools of architecture, and those on their year out between Part 1 and Part 2, will also continue.聽聽
In 2024,聽the annual fee for the most聽common form聽of membership 鈥 a UK-based Chartered Member who has been qualified for over five years 鈥 will increase by 拢19 to 拢448.聽Fees for UK-based Chartered Members with less than five years鈥 experience will increase by 拢11 to 拢266.聽Fees for international Chartered Members with less than five years鈥 experience will increase by 拢9聽to 拢213聽and by 拢15聽to 拢358聽for those with more than five years鈥 experience.聽聽聽聽
The fees for all other individual membership categories (Affiliate, Associate and Fellow)聽and Chartered Practices聽will also increase by 4.5%.聽聽

鈥淎fter聽much聽discussion,聽and agreement by聽elected representatives,聽annual subscriptions fees聽will increase in 2024, though kept聽below levels that would be in line with inflation.聽This will ensure聽RIBA can continue to deliver the support and services members need:聽from聽our work in education,聽developing critical tools and CPD content, to guiding clients on the value of an architect, to celebrating architects and architecture and campaigning for legislation and standards that change society for the better.聽We continually assess our priorities and refine our offer by listening to member feedback, making sure our work is focused on what matters.聽聽聽
RIBA has made great strides in the last two years, to become聽more lean, more sustainable and member focused. We have reduced our聽property portfolio, and聽are investing聽in technology to connect our growing global network.聽聽

The 2024 membership fees have been approved by RIBA Board, RIBA Council, RIAS and RSUA representatives.聽
Members will receive their subscription renewal letters and further information at the beginning of November 2023.
