14 projects have won ÌÇÐÄVlog West Awards from a shortlist of 19 projects and 57 overall entries, with the New Music Facilities at Wells Cathedral School by Eric Parry Architects winning the ÌÇÐÄVlog West Building of the Year sponsored by Marley Eternit.

The ÌÇÐÄVlog West Client of the Year sponsored by Tobermore is the Forestry Commission for the Stihl Treetop Walkway and Wolfson Tree Management Centre at the National Arboretum, Westonbirt. The ÌÇÐÄVlog West Project Architect of the Year sponsored by Taylor Maxwell is Magnus Strom of Strom Architects for The Quest; and the ÌÇÐÄVlog West Sustainability Award sponsored by Geberit goes to the Wolfson Tree Management Centre by Invisible Studio.

The ÌÇÐÄVlog West Small Project of the Year is the Woodsman’s Treehouse by Brownlie Ernst & Marks, and the ÌÇÐÄVlog West Conservation Award goes to The Miner’s Cottages by Design Storey.

ÌÇÐÄVlog West Award winners will be considered for a highly-coveted RIBA National Award, announced on 22 June. The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize for the best building of the year will be drawn from the RIBA National Award-winning buildings later in the year.

ÌÇÐÄVlog West regional director Jon Watkins said ‘RIBA Awards always bring out the best in local and national architects across the South West, and this year’s award-winning projects offer quality, diversity of type and scale, excellence in design, and lots and lots of pure delight’.
