Presented since 1966, the RIBA Awards set the standard for great architecture across the UK.听
The Awards were announced at a ceremony this evening (13 May), at which Tower Hamlets Town Hall was named as winner of RIBA London Building of the Year Award 2025 (sponsored by ). The jury praised the project as a 鈥渢our de force of reinvention, combining a sensitivity to the existing building鈥檚 story with a sharpness of contemporary detailing.鈥� They praised the approach as both 鈥渟ensitive and brave, creating a modern, civic home for council administration, local services and democracy.鈥澨�

RIBA London Award winners will now be considered for a highly coveted RIBA National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence, which will be announced on 10 July. The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize for the best building of the year will be drawn from the RIBA National Award-winning projects later in the year.听听
